EVO Paint

EVO paint is the category of high-performance waterborne polyurethane coatings made by Gemini Coatings for interior wood surfaces. The EVO Eclipse line is Gemini’s complete system, covering first-coat primers through final protective topcoats for kitchen cabinetry, furniture, architectural millwork, interior doors, and molding. Cabinet finishing shops and on-site finishers apply it for its self-leveling film build and factory-smooth results on wood.

The eco-safe profile separates EVO Eclipse from conventional solvent based finishing systems. The formula contains no hazardous air pollutants and no formaldehyde, reducing chemical exposure for employees on the shop floor and in the field. Low odor and low VOC, the coating can be applied in occupied or semi-occupied spaces where ventilation or regulatory compliance would otherwise be a constraint.

The formula dries rapidly, allowing for quick recoating and reduced project turnaround. It runs from standard airless and HVLP equipment as a single-component coating. The EVO Hardener adds cross-link hardness in the cured film for demanding production applications. For a high-adhesion starting point on hard-to-coat wood surfaces, Stix® Waterborne Bonding Primer provides a reliable base before the first primer coat is applied.

EVO Eclipse

EVO Eclipse is a complete interior water based coating system from Gemini Coatings that includes primers, sealers, clear and pigmented topcoats, and tint bases for wood. Every stage of the finishing sequence is covered within the line, from substrate preparation through the final protective coat. It is equally suited for factory production runs and for on-site field finishing and refinishing.

The primers in this line include the Universal Primer UP-1000, available with a Stain Blocking additive for tannin-rich or previously finished wood, plus White and Black Primers for pigmented finishing sequences. These sealers bridge primer and topcoat, evening out wood porosity and locking in substrate color before the finish coats are applied.

Clear topcoats are available in Dead Flat, Flat, Satin, and Semi-Gloss sheens, preserving natural wood character while building a durable film. The pigmented line includes Dull (10 degrees), Flat (20 degrees), Satin (30 degrees), and Semi-Gloss (60 degrees) options, tintable through the EVO tint bases for color-specified production runs. The EVO Hardener can be added to any topcoat where greater cross-link hardness is required.

EVO Eclipse is the system of choice for cabinet shops and millwork operations replacing any solvent based coating in the shop with waterborne technology. Pigmented Topcoats

Kitchen cabinetry, wood furniture, interior doors, and architectural casework are the primary application areas.

These topcoats function as single-component coatings and can be mixed with the EVO Hardener for surfaces requiring greater hardness and chemical resistance.
